Thousands of years ago, three glaciers crossed the earth that grows the grapes that produce the wines of Famous Fossil Vineyard & Winery. Fossils unearthed throughout the vineyard conjure up images of dragonflies flying over creatures below.
Famous Fossil wines use fruit and grape varieties developed specifically for the cold climate of the U.S. Great Lakes region. We hope you will enjoy the distinctive flavors of Midwest American wines. |

All Famous Fossil wines are made at our winery using Illinois grown grapes. Our vineyard work starts with pruning in March and ends with harvest in October. Winemaking takes place all year long with fermentation, aging, racking, and bottling happening each month. Stop in and look down into the winery; we'll be glad to tell you what's going on.

~Schedule your own wine glass painting party~
It's lots of fun. Bring your friends and paint a wine glass. We supply the wine glass, the paints and samples. $10 per person. Add on wine and our Sweet & Savory Plate and it's a Party!
